Tamara Jolley Kimball

February 16, 1945 — November 25, 2024

Kanosh

On November 25, 2024, Tamara Jolley Kimball passed away peacefully at her home in Kanosh, Utah after a brief struggle with cholangio carcinoma.

Tamara was born on February 16, 1945 in Richfield, Utah to Maisel Manning and Mary Whitehead Jolley. She grew up in Angle and Antimony, Utah, where she attended school and lived on the family farm with 10 older siblings (seven sisters and three brothers). Her busy early life on the farm taught Tamara the value of thrift and hard work; created close, loving bonds with her siblings; and instilled a lifelong love of gardening.

Tamara attended high school in Circleville, Utah, where she earned good grades, played drums in the marching band, and wrote and edited the school newspaper. Her senior year, Tamara was named the school’s “Homemaker of Tomorrow” and won the Betty Crocker award. Years later, her husband and children reaped the benefits of these talents—with a wide assortment of delicious meals and new recipes to be had at the dinner table.

In 1965, Tamara met and fell in love with Steven Kimball while attending college in Cedar City. They were married in the Manti temple in 1965. As Steven worked his way through 10 long years of schooling and began his career, the family moved around the country. Through it all, Tamara focused on helping others and providing her children with a safe, stable, and loving home.

Tamara began having some chronic health issues in 1984. She had multiple surgeries over the years, but always managed to bounce back and carry on. She worked hard to make sure her family knew that she loved them and the Lord.

After Steven retired and their four children were grown, Steven and Tamara moved to Kanosh, Utah where Steven was born and raised. For 15 years, Tamara tended large gardens, served the community and her church, and supported her husband as he served as Bishop and city councilman. After Steven passed away in 2017, Tamara married long-time friend Paul Davis in 2022 and spent her final years enjoying his loving companionship.

Tamara is survived by her husband Paul Davis; her children Stephanie (Todd) Swensen, Mary (Scott) Mackey, Jason (Romi) Kimball, and Jennifer Kimball; and her sisters Pattie Sorensen, Mona Romine, Eva Bassett, and Shirley (Ron) Blake. She was preceded in death by her husband Steven L Kimball; her sisters Corrine Applegate, Renee Peterson, Jilleen Anderson; and her brothers George, Kay and Ted Jolley.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 16, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the Kanosh LDS Chapel (25 S. Main Street, Kanosh, Utah). Per Tamara’s request, this will be a closed casket funeral.
