Susan Hatt Paxton was born as August 23, 1943 in Albany, CA. She was born as the third child of nine children. She passed away on October 15, 2019 with family members by her side. She was taken home to Heavenly Fathers presence due to complications from ovarian cancer.
Susan was a beautiful child, young adult and grew to be an attractive woman. She was loved by many people throughout Utah for her generous spirit, compassion and her fine intelligence.
Susan was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Throughout her life she held many ward and stake callings. She was an avid quilter and seamstress. She loved to spend time making things for others especially her kids and grandchildren. When Susan lived in Hurricane Utah she owned her own flower shop called "The Flower Market" she loved making gorgeous arrangements to brighten peoples day.
Susan was a beautiful soul who helped people right up to the very end. Her intelligence knew no bounds and she was educated in several disciplines such as real estate, financial matters as well as personal needs.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Thelma Hatt, her older brother Ron Hatt, her sister Barbara Hatt Mathis along with many other beloved family members. She is survived by her son George Duke of Coursegold, CA., daughter Marshawn Flynn (Jim Koch) of Bandon, OR., son Joe (Cheryl) Flynn of Fillmore, UT., 13 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and four sisters Judy Souza, Sandra Pederson, Thurza Hatt and Sharon Garrett who resides in Fillmore Utah.
Susan was loved by many people who will mourn her loss, but we can be comforted by knowing that she is with relatives who passed before and that we will see her again.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Brown, the hospital staff at Fillmore Community Medical Center and the Millard County Sheriffs Office.
There will be a viewing held Saturday October 26, 2019 from 12pm-2pm at the Olpin Stevens Funeral Home in Fillmore UT. Online condolences can be offered at www.olpinstevensfuneralhome.com.
