Sharlene Nielson Walker

February 19, 1961 — August 24, 2024

Delta

Delta, Utah – Sharlene Nielson Walker, 63, passed away August 24, 2024 at Utah Valley Hospital. She was born February 19, 1961 in Delta, Utah at the old Bird hospital to Bud and Nan (Christensen) Nielson. She married Gary Walker in Delta, Utah in 1981 (later divorced) and was sealed to her family in the Salt Lake City Temple in 1994.

She graduated from Delta High School, where she was a cheerleader. She then relocated to Provo, Utah, to attend Utah Technical College, which would later become Utah Valley University. Following her studies, she returned to Delta and began working at Graymont. She subsequently managed Walker Lumber, where she earned the nickname “Chuck” among the staff.

She was a woman who truly lived for her children and grandchildren. Often described as the "fun mom," she loved her kids fiercely and loyally, always putting their needs above her own and creating a home filled with laughter and love. Her greatest joy came from being with her family, whether it was hosting festive family gatherings or planning sleepovers with her beloved grandkids. She loved watching whatever sport or event they had going on and would be in the stands cheering loudly. These moments were cherished times where she created unforgettable memories, often going the extra mile by taking the grandkids on fun trips to the store or dancing around the house to their favorite songs.

Her passion for creativity was boundless. She was always busy with a new painting, sewing project, or crafting something unique with her hands. Her love for dance and musicals added a joyful rhythm to her life. Sharlene's artistic spirit and joyful personality were a beacon of light to all who knew her, and her legacy of love, creativity, and family will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of being part of her life.

She is survived by her Mother Nan Nielson, Children – Whitney (Jessica) Walker, Shay (AJ) Hutchins, and Cassady (Riley) Cooper; Grandchildren – Holden, Kord, Sayge, and Calder Hutchins; Kaskyt Rebel and Scathe Grey Cooper; Sister - Sherri (Reuben) Lazero, Brothers - Lex (Elisa) Nielson, Bruce Nielson. Preceded in death by Father Bud Nielson.
