Ross David Melville

May 31, 1936 — February 14, 2022

Ross Melville, 85, passed away on February 14, 2022, to spend Valentine's Day with his high school sweetheart, Yvonne. On May 31 in Fillmore, Utah, he was born to Francis and Nada Melville. Ross married Yvonne Bushnell in April 1955 in Fillmore, Utah. April 1957, the marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple. After the passing of Yvonne, he was blessed to marry Barbara Warner.

He was a retired Master Sergeant in the Army Reserved, and he was proud to have served. Ross worked for Granite Furniture for over 40 years. After his retirement, Ross and Yvonne moved from Salt Lake City to Fillmore, where Ross served as City Councilmen. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and especially enjoyed his calling as a Temple worker. He gave words of encouragement and wisdom, teaching many how to walk in the footsteps of Jesus Christ. He was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family; he created countless memories that we will carry throughout our lives. He was often fishing, 4-wheeling, and camping, his favorite location being Fish Lake. His favorite holiday was Christmas; he enjoyed being surrounded by his family and telling them stories of the past. He was survived by his wife, Barbara Warner; son, Lanny Melville (Megan), daughter, Stephanie Middaugh (Kevin), son, Darwin Melville (Maria), son, Edwin Melville (Regina), son, Marcus Melville (Margeret), son, Isaac Melville (Kim), daughter, Lynda Calico (Ned); 108 grand/great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Yvonne, son Byron, and grandson Michael Middaugh.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February  19, 2022 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints building, 290 East 500 South, Fillmore, Utah. A viewing will be held from 6-7 p.m. at Olpin Stevens Funeral Home, 55 West 200 South, Fillmore, Utah, and 9:30-10:30 a.m. before services, at the church.  Online condolences can be offered at www.olpinstevensfuneralhome.com.
