Phil H. Pikyavit, 80, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at his home in Kanosh. He was born October 13, 1942 in Richfield, Utah to Joe and Emily Sobquin Pikyavit. He married Jeannie McFee on February 18, 1961 in Shivwits, Utah.
When Phil was young he loved fishing, hunting and playing hand game. He attended Snow and Dixie College. Phil served in the Utah National Guard. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Phil was a great leader among his people; he served as the chairman of the Kanosh Band for many years, where he was always willing to help and serve his people. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed helping raise them.
Phil is survived by his wife Jeannie; 2 children: Neil Pikyavit of St. George and Ann Pikyavit of Kanosh, Utah; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; two sons: Morgan and Jody Pikyavit; daughter: Peggy Pikyavit; four brothers: Earl, McKay, Frank, and Ralph Pikyavit; three sisters: Madelyn Redfoot, Louise Bushhead, and Shirley James.
A viewing will be held Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM in the Kanosh 1st and 2nd Ward Chapel. A traditional Sing will be held that evening in the Kanosh Band Building. Interment will be at the Kanosh Band Cemetery at sunrise on Sunday, September 17, 2023. Online condolences can be offered at www.olpinstevensfuneralhome.com.
