Molly Shannon Hinton

Molly Shannon Hinton passed away in the comfort of her home surrounded by loved ones on April 5th, 2022, at the age of 88.5  She was born on September 30th,1933 to Joseph Francis Shannon and LuRee Pugh Shannon. She married her sweetheart Arvid Hinton on November 10th,1952 in Alamogordo, New Mexico. 

She told stories of growing up in Washington, D.C., roller skating around the Washington monument and the Easter egg hunts that they would attend on the White House lawn. She loved her father dearly. She met her best friend Joyce Weiser when she was 11 they remained best friends for the next 75 years. She met her future husband at Glen Echo amusement park while she was there with her best friend Joyce. Dad was in the Air Force so they began their 20-year adventure. They lived in New Mexico, England for 3 years, Maine, California and finally retiring to Fillmore. Molly was an excellent cook and baker. Growing up the cookie jar was always full. She was a talented seamstress making quilts and toys for all the grandkids. She was also a wonderful gardener and canner. She was also an avid reader; she was always learning. Her love for all of the Holidays was passed on to all of us. Growing up we had so many wonderful pets. Her love of animals was right up there with Doris Day and Betty White.   She was always supportive of her children and grandchildren. She always had time to listen and impart her wisdom or a much-needed Irish reality check!

 She is survived by her faithful dog Buddy, son's Darby and David. Five grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother. Her beloved husband, daughter Joyce Frampton and son Joseph Hinton.

A Celebration of Molly's life was held on Saturday, April 9th, 2022. Ironically she was born on a Saturday. She was interred in the Fillmore city cemetery next to her sweetheart of 70 years Arvid.  Online condolences can be offered at www.olpinstevensfuneralhome.com.
