Marlene Renee Whitaker

September 23, 1964 — May 7, 2024

Delta

In the loving memory of our daughter, sister and aunt, Marlene Renee Whitaker, a fifty-nine year-old recent widow, who passed away peacefully, but unexpectedly, in her home in Delta on May 7, 2024, after suffering from poor health for several years.

Marlene Renee was born on September 23, 1964, in Los Angeles, California and then lived in Simi Valley, California. She received an AA degree in Business from Moorpark College in California and worked for many years in the banking industry.

After Marlene and her husband moved to Delta, Utah, she worked at White River Academy for fourteen years in Human Resources and Compliance. She loved her job and always had high praise for her “boss” and her co-workers who became some of her closest friends.

She loved Chinese Food, traveling, musical theater, and genealogy. She became excited at the challenge of researching information on the internet and had a knack for winning prizes in contests! Marlene Renee loved her callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter–day Saints, especially working as a teacher in the Primary organization and delighted in planning fun lessons for “her” children.

When you remember Marlene Renee, we hope you will remember her as being very kind, thoughtful, and patient, trying to do her best, striving to be Christ like in her hopes and dreams for the future. She cared very much about others and had a great testimony of the Savior and the gospel, which sustained her for so many years.

Marlene Renee was always a loving daughter, wife, sister, aunt, sister-in-law, and friend to so many people and often wished her health and circumstances would have allowed her to do more. In honoring Marlene Renee’s memory, let us cherish the moments we shared with her, the laughter we enjoyed, and the love we were blessed to receive from her.

Marlene Renee is survived by her parents, Frank and Evelyn Driscoll, two sisters, a brother, two brothers-in-law, a sister-in-law, and ten nieces and nephews as well as many other relatives living near and far away.

A memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 18,2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 3rd & 4th Wards building in Delta, Utah.
