Ida Charlene Lister, age 65, of Delta, Utah passed away peacefully on July 23rd, 2021, in St. George Utah.
Ida was born September 23, 1955, in Hawthorne, Nevada to Julia Charlene Lamon. Ida recently was able to discover through DNA her deceased biological father, Harry Lloyd Chancy, and had connected with her new family. Ida rejoiced in that new family connection. Ida was the oldest of 5 siblings and was very protective of her younger siblings.
Ida lived in many different southern states including Tennessee, Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, and Texas. She was known for her strong southern accent which was loved by all.
Her marriage to Robert Lister (later divorced) brought her to Delta where she is loved by many. Ida worked at the Delta Chevron for over 16 years and was currently employed at The Rally Stop. She loved her interactions with the patrons there. Ida was a friend to all and had many friends in the Delta community. Ida spent many hours volunteering at the Delta schools. She loved southern food, and crafted many beaded projects for friends and family. Ida looked forward to seeing the Castle of Irvine and to learn about her Scottish clan on a trip she was planning to Scotland.
Ida became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on April 27, 2019 and received her endowment in the Payson Temple on Dec 9, 2020. She loved and was loved by her Delta 5th Ward Family.
She was the mother of three children. Michael, Stacy, and Jon.
Ida was preceded in death by her mother Julia, her father Harry, and 3 siblings. She is survived by her son: Michael (Amy) Smith (Michigan); daughter Stacy Lister (Australia); and son Jon (Emilee) Lister (Delta); 7 grandchildren: Pierce, Jace, and Kira Smith; Brandon Best; David, Kye, and Charlie Lister; a sister: Terry Cleavland (New York).
The funeral will be held Friday, July 30th, at 11:00 a.m. at the Delta Stake Center. A viewing will be held at the Stake Center from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the funeral.
The family would like to thank the Delta 5th Ward for their compassionate service.
