Delta, Utah- Garn M Bishop, 71, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017 at his home in Delta, Utah surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 16, 1946 in Altadena, California, to Gertha Irene Likes Bishop. She married Henry Milo Bishop on August 24, 1938 in Deseret, Utah.
Garn was raised in Hinckley, Utah. He attended Hinckley Academy and graduated from Delta High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1969 and was medically discharged. He was always a hard-working provider for his family. He enjoyed painting, singing, playing chess, woodworking, carpentry, playing cards, bowling, and board games. He also served a work mission in Idaho. He was a fan of Elvis Presley, Patsy Cline, Connie Francis, John “The Duke” Wayne and Clint Eastwood. He most of all loved spending time with his family. He loved with all his heart.
He is survived by his wife Sharon Jean Ivie Bishop of Delta, Utah; his children: Garn Milo and Jeanine Bishop of Provo, Utah; Gregory Wade and Tonya Bishop of Toole, Utah; Arlinda Jean and Brian Miller of Converse, Louisiana; Mary Ann Safford and Robert Davis of Fallon, Nevada; Suzette Irene and Michael Bolin of Enterprise, Kansas; Jon Kelly and Maranda Bishop of Idabel, Oklahoma; Shari Lynn and Bobby Goodman of Many, Louisiana; Jacob Anthony Bishop and Kim Phelts of Idabel, Oklahoma; Julie Marie and Scott Paulman of Delta, Utah; Elizabeth Jane Bishop and Samuel Baker of Delta, Utah and Stephen V. Bishop of Delta, Utah; 42 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; his brothers: Bill Scott and Bobbi Kane of Salt Lake City, Utah; Milo “Mike” E. and Raquel Bishop of Salt Lake City, Utah; Cleon and Patsy Virgin of California. He is preceded in death by his parents Henry Milo and Gertha Irene Likes Virgin Bishop; his sisters Leola and Royal Walters, Shirley and Clint Peppers, Valair “Lari” and Blaine Nelson; his brothers Merle and Key Virgin, Lyle and Mary Jean Virgin, Paul Virgin.
