Fillmore, Utah – Gail, aged 75, passed away early on Monday, December 12, 2022. She is a Florida native but was staying with her son and family while they helped her these past five months as she struggled with an aggressive form of cancer.
Gail was born in Waycross, Georgia on July 16th, 1947, to Rhoda Lou Hutson and James Hershel Henderson, parents who loved and doted on her.
Gail spent the better part of her life in Jacksonville, Florida on Transylvania Avenue in the same home she grew up in. She worked for years at the DMV in downtown Jacksonville and in her later years, she earned money by taking care of those who were sick or elderly. She loved to travel and was always game for an adventure. She traveled throughout the States as well as beyond to visit family and friends and to take in the sights. Gail was born and raised a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served others an immense amount throughout her life. Gail loved people. She could make friends with just about anyone if given enough time. With her love of people came a love for genealogy and anyone who knew her would remember what an incredible memory she had for names, dates, and places. She was fiercely loyal, loved a bargain, had a huge heart, was generous to a fault, was ready with a laugh and could be counted on for both fun and help at any time, day or night, whenever you needed her.
She is survived by her son Jeffery Allen Rowell (married to Kim Ardine Gorrell), her four grandchildren, McKenna (Dillon), Kaleb (Rachel), Ethan and Noah, her one great-grandchild, Liam, her first cousin Nancy Joanne Henderson Tredway, and many other relatives scattered all across the map. Gail was someone who collected friends and family all along the way and she will be missed every day by those who loved her and called her their friend.
A memorial service will be held for Gail in her hometown of Jacksonville, Florida on Saturday, January 28th 2023 at 10:30 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Chapel (5100 Firestone Rd. Jacksonville, Florida. Please join us as we celebrate her life. All are welcome.
