Elko, NV, Eileen Risley Eck, 83, passed away on June 7, 2023, of natural causes at Elko Regional Hospital. She was born on June 4, 1940, in East Dubuque Iowa to Oris and Estella Risley. She married Bud Eck of Preston Idaho in 1980.
Eileen was one of 11 children and spent her early years in East Dubuque, IL. She attended St. Mary's Grade School and East Dubuque High School.
She spent most of her adult life living in the Rocky Mountain region. First, raising her children in Salt Lake City, Utah, and then moving to Preston, Idaho where she enjoyed 40 years as a farmer’s wife. She helped support the family farm by working for the Utah DMV in Logan Utah and as an insurance agent in Preston Idaho. In her later years she developed a love for genealogy, creating Bob Ross paintings, and taking drives for Frostys at the nearest Wendy’s.
She is survived by her children, Janet Miles (Lee), John Peterson (Ben Barr), Tom Peterson, and Holly Goff (Jim); sister Teresa Adams (John), Kanosh, UT; brothers James Risley (Kay), Dubuque IA and John Risley (Sherri), Florida; and grandsons Mike Peterson and Jeremy Peterson, great-grandchildren, Kayla, Wesley, Dominique, Ashlyn, and many nieces, nephews, step-children and step-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband of 40 years Bud Eck, and siblings, Mary Quick, Carmen Flynn, Joe Risley, Reno Risley, Joyce Joos, Arnold Risley, and Ruth Ann Craig
